WHY WE DECIDED TO DO THE
PODCAST:
There are so many amazing, lesser-known
bands that we feel deserve a voice. We are
confident that our listeners will enjoy
these artists as well. Sites like MySpace
provide excellent exposure for artists, but
there are so many that it’s hard to find a
consistent group of artists that people
would like to support. METALKAST hopes to
be a filter in the unending sea of great
music, bringing a few top choices per month.
Paul Rogne started the concept of this
Podcast in early 2005. Paul is a drummer,
and working with his last project, Full
Stack, exposed him to a plethora of new
artists. He was amazed by the amount of
talented unknown or lesser-known artists
there are out there.
Once Full Stack released their debut CD
“Venus,” they were inundated by companies
promising to get them airplay and
distribution, and by companies who are
using agencies that promote youths to stop
drinking. However, these services were not
being offered free to the band--these
services were being offered at a cost of
hundreds to thousands of dollars per
offer. This is what finally influenced
Paul to make the push to do it himself and
to keep it free for artists.

Simply put, we are musicians helping
musicians. Our goal is essentially to
introduce artists to new markets
globally. This isn’t a business--this
is a passion!

the music industry. Our primary focus is
on POP ROCK to
NU-METAL/HARDCORE. We introduce artists to
new markets around the world through the
Podcast and this future site. There are
plans to find additional sources of
promotion in the future, but we will still
be offering it at no cost to the artist or
audience.
